Delayed baggage
Report delayed baggage
Can’t find your bag after arriving? Always report this online within 48 hours after your arrival. You can also declare delayed baggage at the baggage desk before leaving the airport. After creating a report, you’ll always receive a so-called Property Irregularity Report (PIR) with a file reference number. With this number, you can keep track of the status of your declaration.
Once your delayed baggage has arrived at Schiphol, the delivery service will contact you. After receiving your confirmation regarding the scheduled delivery time, the baggage will be delivered.
Reporting delayed baggage at the airport
Note that you currently cannot report your missing baggage online if you’re arriving at: Aberdeen, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Humberside, Inverness, Leeds Bradford, London City, London Heathrow, Manchester, Newcastle, Norwich, Southampton or Teesside.
If you’re arriving at 1 of these destinations, please go to the baggage desk at the airport to report your missing bag. Fortunately, in 90% of the cases, we’re able to locate your baggage within 3 days!
Tracking delayed baggage
Already reported your delayed baggage? Starting from 24 hours after your declaration, you can check the status in the baggage tracking system using your last name and the file reference number.
Are you staying at multiple destinations during your trip? You can change your temporary address in the baggage tracking system.
In the rare case we haven’t located your bag within 21 days, please contact the KLM Customer Contact Centre. We’ll discuss the next steps with you, such as submitting a claim.
